let us know what you exact model is. In your case you have a bad backlight. This could be a bad backlight array, a bad power board or a bad main board. Start by removing the back of your TV and take a look at the boards. Check for domed or leaking capacitors as well as ony other obviously damaged component. Then remove the cable from the power board to the main board. Turn your TV on and let us know if you can now see the backlight turning on.

I also have sound but no picture on my 60" Samsung TV. I can see images on screen when I shine a flashlight on it. I suspect the T Com board but can not find one on line and local repair people will not sell one to me. Where might I find one? The part number is BN96-28944A T Com board. Failing that, how might I repair the bad board?
