Is it possible to bypass broken power button?
I spilled liquid on my MacBook (yes, I know, no need to reprimand me) and I got it serviced.
Unfortunately, everything that could be done with repairing the power button (which appeared to be the only thing affected) didn’t work as it still turns itself off randomly: the “are you sure you want to shut down…” command keeps appearing and MacBook turns itself off anyway, despite me immediately pressing cancel etc.
At this point, the only solution as the service says is to simply replace the whole keyboard. However, I am unable to handle this expense right now and I got a desperate idea.
Since the spill, I tried to avoid even touching the troublesome button, using only the Restart or Shut down option and opening the lid in order to turn it on again.
This got me thinking, is it possible to simply disconnect the power button completely and use MacBook without it, as i’ve already been doing so?
I know how irresponsible that may seem, but won’t opening the lid still work as a turning on option despite loss of the button?
Thank you so much and sorry if its incoherent, im not a native speaker and English forums are my last chance.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
