Is there hope for my keyboard

Block Image

Block Image

I do this thing where I take my iPad with me in the bathroom when I take a shower so I could listen to music during (it calms me). Today my keyboard was on the floor and it ended up getting sopping wet. At first I didn’t think much but I attached it back on my iPad and it wasn’t working at all. After I turned my iPad off and on again the keys started going nuts, for example I would press the “q” key and something like “[qh” would come up and one time the apostrophe key keep repeating on it’s own (if that makes sense). I also took a key off to see what would happen and how it looks like but now I can’t put it back on, the keyboard looks dry but I’m pretty this is water damage. I really hope someone can help because this is my friend’s keyboard and I’m having a bit of a panic attack.

Thank you so much.

It looks like the mount on the keyboard broke from what I can see in the photos. Unless you only lost one non critical anchor point and the critical ones are intact, you will need to replace the entire keyboard if you want it to have a key there.

If you do not mind living without it, your keyboard will continue to work but you will need to know what key that is by muscle memory.

As far as the water damage goes there’s not much you can do on these thin tablet keyboards to fix it :(. You may need to buy one and play dumb as if nothing happened. Saying nothing isn’t always ideal, but it’s sometimes better to handle it that way.
