no power, no standby led, checked power supply, what could it be?

my friend had tried to turn on his ps3, but no standby lights come on when plugged in.

i have checked the power plug, power switch at ps3

as 240V comes past the switch at the ps3

i tried to check the power supply but no reading from the holes inside to get a volt reading.

have replaced with a friends 60gb power supply that i know works but the ps3 still will not turn on or has a standby light when plugged in.

does anybody have any ideas, or know if i can check any points with a voltmeter?

i have checked i plugged everything back in correctly when trying the new power supply.
