Disassemble a Microsoft Wireless 2000
To disassemble the keyboard, remove the battery cover and batteries. There are a total of 20 screws holding the keyboard together; 10 visible screws, the rest are hidden. Six are under the very top row of keys (Home key, 5 numbers, zoom, play, etc.).
With the keyboard right side up, carefully place a thin, flat blade under one side of the edge between the keyboard and top key panel. Work the flat edge along the keys, gently prying them up. It is one piece.
Once it's off, you will see the screws under small paper covers. Save the covers. Turn the keyboard over to view the bottom, wrist pad nearest you, labels upside down. Two of the screws are under the right side of each label. The other two are hidden under the rubber feet on either side of the battery port opposite the wrist pad. I recommend placing all the screws to one side in rows as they come off because some are shorter than others.

There are several screws under the shortcut keys. They just pry up.

On your Windows 11 PC, select Connect if a notification appears on your keyboard, then wait for it to get set up. Don't see the notification? Select Start > Bluetooth & devices > Add a device > Bluetooth, then select Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard from the list.
Greetings,
Peter
