Will one of these guides work to repair an original Xbox controller?

I picked up a wired controller for the original Xbox at a thrift shop for $1 and it has a frayed cord. Will one of the guides for the other Xbox controllers help me with replacing the cord? Also, does anyone know where I can get a replacement cord?
