Upgrade logic board in 15" Late 2013 MBP?

Can I replace my MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013, 2GHz, 8GB, Integrated Graphics logic board with a same-year & model (say from iFixit’s store), 2.3Ghz or 2.6GHz, 16GB Dual Graphics logic board? I would keep all the peripherals the same. Is it worth it?

Yes, swapping out a logic board from within the same series can be done!

As it being worth it? Many people don’t like the newest versions of MacBook Pro’s! Between Dongle He ll for useful ports and the keyboard & display issues. And the many people who need the more powerful CPU’s the newer models offer the inability of many to run at the higher clocking for more than bursts makes a less useful system. Many people are going back to the older retina’s! So your system has value and parts are getting harder to find and often are at a premium!

Thanks Dan - It looks like I would also need to replace the heat sink module to upgrade to the higher performing dual graphics logic board. Any thing else jump out at you as being part of this upgrade path?

Upgrading from an IG model to a DG model while doable is not something I recommend. The cost to benefit is just not there.

It would be cheaper getting a used one as it will cost less and be less risky!
