Why won’t my instax mini 9 take a picture

My instax mini 9 won’t turn on. The lights keep flashing and I have tried replacing the batteries several times. I rearranged the alignment of the batteries and checked the polarities and it’s all correct. The only sign of activity the camera is showing is the lights keep flashing on the brightness adjustment dial. This is a new camera and I just got it two days ago and it was working fine until now.
