Not finding satellites when connected to HS720 drone

I have a Holy Stone 720 drone. It uses the Ophelia app. The phone runs the app and connects with the camera just fine but does not find any satellites. Therefore all the follow me and circle features don’t work. My wife’s iPhone 6 works just fine with all the features. Since the iPhone does work, I am guessing then that it must be some setting on the Moto G7. Any suggestions?

Hi @jtig ,

Have you enabled the phone’s GPS setting? It may be turned off so as to extend battery life as GPS uses a lot of power. You may want to remember to disable the setting when not using the drone ;-)

Not sure in your phone but try Settings > Connections > GPS

Have you enabled the “location” setting in the phone?

Go to Settings > Security and Location > Location

Having the GPS on and enabling location allows apps to use the GPS in the phone to know where you are.

I had amother issue. once the drone is further that 30 feet away , icannot control the forward moton nor can i turn it around. I had to fly it back and land. Happened twice. I called Holy stone and they said that there is a problem with Ophelia. Need todownload a new version but it is available on Android only

@nnaider Thanks for sharing, I had exactly the same problem today so downloaded the new app version to see if it fixes the problem. Fingers crossed. FYI the version I've just downloaded is v 2.2.3 iOS

I have had what sounds like the same problem. GPS is on and working for all features other than TAP FLY, FOLLOW ME, and maybe POINT OF INTEREST (but have not tried the latter). When I tap the icon to initiate the feature I get the following message on the Ophelia App screen: “ Insufficient Mobile Phone GPS Signal”.

RESOLUTION: After talking to customer service many, many times, I finally got someone that mentioned a setting that I should use on my cell phone. I was told, for the first time, to make sure that AIRPLANE MODE was turned on, and of course LOCATION and WIFI. Sure enough, when I turned on AIRPLANE MODE I was able to initiate TapFly and FollowMe. I will still have to try Point of Interest mode at the next flight.

Hello,

I’ve got the same problem too. My phone is a Google Pixel 2. It’s like there are some informations that do not sync correctly between the controller, the drone and the phone.

I exchanged a lot of email with customer service, and they told me finally that it might be a bug caused by the phone and they would notify the team in charge of the App development.

When I tried it with my iPad, it was working fine. I hope a patch will be issued soon. I cannot use any other phone as my wife has the exact same model as me…
