Left airpod not being recognised

I have had my airpods since april 2019 and they have worked great until about a month ago when my dog managed to get hold of my left airpod and decided to chew it up. Surprisingly it still worked as intended. The sound was good, and it was charging. But about two days ago my left airpod was not being recognised when i tried to use it or when i put it in the case. i tried resetting the airpods and putting them on charge but they would not recognise the left airpod. The right airpod still connects, charges and works great but the left airpod just wont show up.
