Can I get touch ID on another genuine apple button?

I have an ipad 6, however the home button cable is torn. I was wondering if it was possible to transfer over the BGA chip under the metal cover on the ribbon cable to another genuine apple home button and restore touch ID functionality. I know that on the 6s this is not possible as this is all built into the button itself, but as this is a completely different design, i was wondering if this would work. Thanks

Edit: i have added 3 photos, these show the chips i am referring to, another to show what we are looking at from a distance

From what I see, the sensor/controller chip seem to be the one adhered to the back of the button itself. You have to keep the button to get Touch ID.

From what i see, there are 3 chips that could possibly be transferred to a new button. As you can see in the photos i have now added, i have removed the metal cover. The large shiny chip is one which i think could hold the solution. The other would be the chip that is under the hot glue type stuff. Upon further inspection, i noted that there is a chip on the back of the button itself, also covered by hot glue type stuff. has anyone tried transferring either of these 3 chips to restore touch id functionality?
