Will the 2.5 inch SSD fit properly

I bought the SSD package for my iMac 4K 2019 but it doesn’t come with an adapter to fit the space of the old HDD. Do I need to buy one separately?

Nope it should just theoretically pop in after you disassemble the computer, take out the old SATA cables, and unscrew the hdd.

Right on. The videos I watched were installing a 2.5” Samsung ssd and they needed a mounting adapter. Thanks for the quick response.

@jaronhathaway - Here's the guide to put it in iMac Intel 21,5" Retina 4K Display (2017) Festplatte austauschen Do make sure you get the special pizza cutter tool to get the display off as many people damage theirs using the wrong tools and technique.
