iPhone X is dead

Hello.

A customer recently came in with he’s iPhone X and explained that it just died. It won’t turn on and it won’t charge.

I tried charging it while using a USB voltage meter and it showed 0A. I suspected the battery and tried to replace it but still no sign of life or charge in the phone. I then connected the phone to a DCPS to check if there is a short in the motherboard but it showed no short at all. I suspect one of the IC’s related to power management is dead but i am not sure where to start.

Anyone with similar issue that has a fix or can tell me what to do next?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a board level issue. Send it to a board repair specialist like iPad Rehab or STS Telecom or Louis Rossmann.

I do board repairs myself but have never seen this issue in an iPhone X. I was hoping i could get someone who has experienced this issue before to tell me where i should star. That way i,m saving time.

You can check DM readings on the FPC’s to see if anything is off… check voltage readings at battery terminal FPC to see that Tigris and Hydra are doing there job… I have also seen middle layer with separated pads that needed jumpers and others needed a reflow. What does it do on booting from DCPS? does it connect to 3utools (computer)?
