Not finding SSD in Disk Utility but boots to login

Strange one here, this A1534 board will boot to a login screen most times, though sometimes to questions mark file folder. I don’t know the login details, but booting to Recovery to reset password doesn’t work as it can’t find the drive.

I’ve booted it in Target, DU finds it, but fails when trying to erase the disk.

Tech tools finds it, but only in Partitions repair, which doesn’t bring up any errors, and SMART check, but it doesn’t appear elsewhere.

I’m just wondering if anyone else has come across something like this? Is it possible that the computer was restarted while updating and FileVault is enabled causing these issues?
