Dim screen/flickering after sceen replacement

Greetings!

I just completed an ifixit screen replacement on my Pixel 3. Before I sealed up the back I powered it on and the screen was very dim. Pulling down the system tray (or whatever it’s called) the white background was flickering. Opening a few apps, anything white flickered.

Power off and back on, dim and white stuff flickering.

When I press the power button to turn off the screen it momentarily went very bright, then off (I had the brightness turned all the way up ). So it seems that navigating the home screen and apps it’s dim/flickering. Entering the passcode and turning off the screen it is normal.

Is there some setting I need to change with this new screen?
