Is this cartridge even worth fixing?

Recently my copy of Super Mario Land for the Gameboy stopped working. I opened it up, tested around with a multimeter, and the problem was obvious enough.

I don’t know how I’d go about fixing this without damaging the board as I’m fairly inexperienced, and its an inexpensive game, so maybe its not even worth trying?

@o0mcnugget0o that is a tough one to answer. The repair is actually straight forward. Use a scalpel and remove some of the green mask from the copper traces at the end and the beginning of where the “fracture” is. Then solder a thin jumper wire across to reconnect the trace. The trouble for you might be the soldering. Maybe you have somebody that could do that for you. I would at least try. Remember it is an “inexpensive” game but still something that would end up in the landfill and thus create more waste, which we really don’t need. Best of luck and let us know how it works out.

Thanks! I tried out holding the copper wire in with electrical tape, (temporarily, for testing), and it worked! Ill go back through later and solder it on!
