Replaced battery, but will not work unplugged

I have recently purchased and replaced my surface pro 4 battery. I had no missing pieces, everything was placed properly, and all connections and screws remain in place. I have since left my Surface pro charged for 2-3 hours and the moment I take it off the charger it shuts down. My charger’s light is a solid white. Device settings show my battery is installed and is supported by the battery report I ran. The Surface pro is fully up to date with its firmware and driver updates.
