My Phone has green lines on it which are worst when I turn it on.

I was walking home from school for maybe 10 minutes yesterday and I had my phone in a pocket in my bag. It was raining heavily and I got soaked. When I turned my phone on it had lines on it. I took it out of its case to try and dry it in front of my heater. It has some cracks on it as it is second hand and I think water has gotten in through there. I am a kid with barely any money so is there a way I can fix this without having to spend 100s of dollars.

Your display panel must have been damaged in your bag. There is no way to fix the old display, you will need to bring it to a shop to fix it or do it yourself.

You can buy an iFixit iPhone XR Display Panel and repair it yourself. You can find some cheap alternatives on Amazon that will work, just with significantly less quality. But if all you want is to use the phone for cheap, look on Amazon or eBay.

Make sure you swap the whole earpiece assembly to keep Face ID.

You probably have to go ahead and replace the entire display….

It is very likely that the screen stub contact is damaged, most likely you just need to disassemble the phone and check the connection of the stub to the board.
