Please check your brake light switch and the radio power wire (or any others) and verify that the wires have not melted /shorted together. These wires will be located under the dash probably in a bunch. You may have a blown radio and dashboard fuse /cut wires and the brakes are supplying all the power!!

What do you mean communication? Have you checked your wiring? Is there a short somewhere?
