Phone calls breaking up

My brand new iPhone 13 Pro Max does not have clear calls. Usually after a couple minutes, people on the other end say they are hearing like every other word. And Apple replaced the phone & still does it. As for my Altice service, an iPhone 6s does not have any issues & my 8plus never had any issues with calls. Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi

I know this might seem a bit too obvious to be true but I’m pretty sure that it’s to do with the cell signal and I have a solution

If it’s your phone causing trouble for someone else take it off loud speaker and put it onto the ear speaker

Iv noticed this happens when speaking to people over long distances

Hopefully this helps

Thanks:-)

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. It does exactly the same thing. Started happening a month after warranty ended. Apple insists it not the phone. Network provider says there is nothing wrong. In the meantime I’m stuck with an 18 month old phone that is not fit for purpose. My advice is to get your money back and buy another phone from anyone else but Apple. If you go on line there are lots of people reporting the same issues.

@jenlq This isn't really an answer, but more a comment on your personal opinion (which is perfectly fine of course). All major phone manufacturers will inevitably have issues, whether it being Apple, Samsung, LG, etc

I am old enough to have lived in the days when mobile phones weren't even invented, so I have seen them from the very start. (The first "mobile phone" we had, was contained in a crate about 36"x18"x24"!)

Having had iPhones since iPhone 5 was released, my personal opinion is that it is a very solid product (although one of the most expensive options). Current daily driver is 12 Pro Max and I am super satisfied.

The problems with unclear calls and / or dropped calls, are more often than not provider related. (But, yes, it can be hardware / phone related.) The service providers all have different settings and sometimes they push out an update to the settings with something that at best qualifies as a beta.

We had an incident here in Norway (with our largest service provider) 3-4 years ago, where they pushed out a new "feature" that was going to make everything eons better. The fact is that it tanked a lot of phones and hundreds and hundreds of people were unable to make calls. (I worked in IT for a very large Scandinavian private security company, and we were severely affected, as it made a large percentage of our devices that relied on the service provider, completely useless.)

Sorry by nothing fixed the problem I had. I’m sure it’s not the answer you want. I tried 3 different network providers but the fault still continued. In the end I got rid of the iPhone and got an android. No issues since replacing!
