Are M1 MacBook Keycaps Interchangable?

Hello, I have 2020 M1 Air and today I was removing a keycap, because it made weird sound. After I have removed it, I noticed, that the plastic clip on the keycap is broken into 3 pieces.

The clicking mechanism by it self is fine, just the keycap broke.

My question is - Can I buy keycaps for different model, are they interchangeable? (My D keycap broke)

In the photo I attached, you can see that the top right corner is broken.

yes u need a hosing with the button and the switch mechanism, but Ya u can if the Sencer is good and it has connectivity to the switchboard does the Kap key work without the button still

Hi

You can definitely replace them!

From my experience doing this I find it’s easier to buy a new cap with a new switch as they are easily damaged during installation and it doesn’t cost much more ether:-)

As for where you can find these parts eBay and AliExpress are loaded with them so you should have a hard time finding one;-)
