2 My MacBook Pro won't shutdown
my mid 2012 MacBook pro needs a smc reset because the controls are not working right but the power button seems not be working so i can't shutdown my mac do to a smc reset

What ended up happening? If there is a solution you found elsewhere, or that you found on your own, you should post it here for anyone who might be having the same issue.

@krisrodriguez - I'm guessing Evan press and held the power button down or just pulled the battery connection.
