Is it possible to test a replacement screen before install?

Hi all,

I’m in the process of fixing a Switch Lite with a cracked screen.

I ordered a replacement that was shipped in a bubble mailer envelope with minimal padding on the inside. Knowing how delicate they are, I hoped for the best and went forward with the install.

After powering the switch on, the new screen is obviously broken. At this point I'm not sure if it broke in transit or if I was too careless on install.

The company I purchased from is graciously sending me a replacement, but I want to confirm that the screen isn’t broken prior to installing it.

Do you all have experience? Once the switch is stripped down to the screen level, I don’t see a way to connect all the priority ribbon cables to power on and test it without basically a full reassembly. Thank you in advance.
