Is the black plastic bar on the back of the unibody replacable?

My MacBook Pro fell down one time, and the black long bar on the back of the unibody (the one who probably hides the display's hinges?) is broken.

I could not find this part in the iFixit parts list for my MacBook Pro model, so I wonder if it is included in another part, but couldn't find out so far.

To find the part which I mean: Close the MacBook Pro, and lay it lid up on a table. If you then turn the MacBook Pro so that the Apple logo is the right way for you to see, bring your eye level to the table, so that you are looking at the MacBook Pro's backside (NOT the underside of the body). There is a long black bar, which probably hides the display hinges. This plastic bar I mean.

Is it available seperately? And if not, which part is it available with?

quick ebay search http://www.ebay.com/itm/MacBook-Pro-15-U...

pretty cheap. but you need to remove the display panel to replace it. You will need to slide it to the right and pull it out. Reverse to put it back.

Hi there!

I have the same problem, too.

Is it really necessary to replace it or can I bear to keep it broken?

Many thanks to your replies.

Ale
