My washer washes, expels water, rinses, light goes back to wash

My washer washes, expels water, rinses, and the light goes back to wash and doesn't spin at all. I have been manually putting the washer on the normal cycle and when it finally goes back to the wash light; i change the setting to rinse/spin on the bottom of the selector.
