N64 this device cannot save/load

Hello!

I recently bought a n64 with world cup 98 and I get a message when I turn the console on that says : "This device cannot save/load data"

I even bought a new controller pak/controller/jumper pak but that did not solve the issue and I could not find anything on the internet about this. Otherwise everything is working fine, but i don't know how could I fix this problem. If you have any tips for me I am happy to hear it.

In case somebody stumble upon the same problem. I couldn't figure out the problem until I bought Rayman 2. At the start up I got this massage that the Controllare Pak damaged and it may attept to fix it. I let it try and now it is working .
