Wo sitzt der "BIOS"-Chip

Hallo, ich bin verzweifelt auf der Suche nach dem BIOS-Chip von meinem iMAC 2019 27", den ich dann mit Hilfe von einem CH341-Programmiergerät einlesen und neu beschreiben will. Habe das iLogic-Board noch im Gehäuse, weil, wie so oft, man für alles irgend ein Spezialwerkzeug brauch. Vielleicht sitzt das Teil ja auch auf der Vorderseite? Was ich bisher so gefunden habe ist die Feststellung, dass der Chiphersteller Winbond ist?

Hi there, after looking for the right software and installing it, I can send you already a first pic. Here its only for 2 pins, but thats not the prob. The idea is to put any plastic-part on the chip, inside the wiring for ch341 and....let*s see what happens-:)[image|2875002] Now I am too tired to continue. Ah be4 I forget, who the hell came to the idea with BSC? I was looking for hours for......better name would be BSH (=bullsh....)

Hi again, here its only possible to send pics. I just made in hurry a hand-drawing, but you'll understand my idea, I'm sur abt. What do you think? Is it possible to ralize this with a 3D-printer? Ur opinion as electronic-expert is asked for-:)

frank.reger on an iMac (and all other Mac's until the T2) the BIOS is called the EFI Firmware Chip . The IC is on the side you are looking at.

Lots of thnks for information, especially pics. Furthermore, can you tell me which pin is supposed for voltage? To small for recognizing-:) Left top or right button?

@frank.reger that would be pin 8 :-)that is the top Right pin in those pictures. I attached the datasheet to my original answer. Hope that will help you out to get this "beast" back on the road :-))

@oldturkey03 Thx again for answering. Unfortunatly I dont know wether the chip is already damaged, coz I tried both positions of the brackets-:( I got the problem that the brackets dont stay on the chip....always slipping away. Do you have any small hint to avoid this prob?

Sorry I just forgot...with this electronic data-sheet....I am flashed -not the chip-:) I am used to use thinks like 1"-screws for heavy machinery or engines, which I design - no T3- or T8-screws LOL

frank.reger I am so sorry but I can’t help with that. Not sure why the IC would not stay with the bracket. 1” screws are quite different than the iMacs EFI chip :-)
