Repairing small chip in screen

Block Image

Block Image

Screen has the pictured extremely small chip, most obvious when operating in dark mode/darker applications, media, or websites; sans completely replacing the screen, which as of writing (02/18/23) there is not a guide for, is there anything that can be done?

@g3g0ry nothing you can do about it, other then replacing the complete display. Seems like a big cost for a small defect like that. I would suggest that you leave it and continue to use your MBP as always. After awhile you will most likely not be as aware of that defect. Of course, if you do want to change it, here is the guide for it MacBook Pro (15 Zoll, Ende 2013, Retina Display) Displayeinheit austauschen and a replacment is avaible right here MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2013-Mid 2014) Display Assembly and many other places.

This does appear to be the consensus across the net. Thank you for confirming & providing the guide. As the unit itself was a free gift from a friend who planned on throwing it out, I'm thankfully a tad more at liberty to invest in it than someone who had paid a MacBook Pro cost upfront. Where there's a will there's a way!
