SMC Error after replacing mother board

I replaced the mother board, and the MacBook automatically turns off after input login password.

After pressing Option + D to check, it shows up a SMC error.

What should I fix here?

@danj - I tried connecting all cables again and the issue is fixed. Seems I didn’t connect all the cables properly.

I don't know if the picture attached will help, but this picture is the one you attached translated. This should narrow down some things.

@jricreator - I should have done that as I was already working from the error codes. Thanks!

The bottomline here is the SMC logic within this logic board is messed up. Swapping out the logic board in its self won’t cause these errors, this is just a bad board from the start.

But now we know what the original board problem we can deal with it as it’s a much simpler problem than trying to diagnose and repair the SMC part of the logic board. Here the backlight logic has a problem. Which appears to have been poorly diagnosed by the local shop.

Sometimes, it is better to translate a language to figure out problems than try to work off the error codes. Apple prefers to keep things a secret, thus causing problems working from the error codes. Glad I could help!

@jri_creator - These error codes are consistent across the systems. So while it’s helpful for the person who see them to be native to them. The code ID’s is all I needed and I was pressed for time so for the benefit of others I should have parced the code into English which you did quite well!

Where did you get the logic board? I would return it. This is a logic board issue. Likely messed up firmware.

Thanks for your message. Cannot return… no way to fix it?

@kenku7828 - Ouch! You got burnt! Sure it’s possible! Just not cheap.

There are shops who have the needed deeper skills and tools.

If you try yourself do you have access to the schematics and boardviews? Can you read them as well as have the tools to diagnose and micro-soldering skills and the needed tools. And lastly access to the needed parts?

It might be cheaper getting another board.

@danj Hi Dan, Thanks for letting me know.

I don’t have this skill. 🥲

My Mac originally having an issue on screen (no back lights and the Apple icon), the shop I visited told me I need to replace a mother board.

So I can do nothing here🥲…

@kenku7828 - I bet you your original logic board is repairable! Much more than this one.

Backlight issues often have simple causes. Corrosion around the displays cable connections which causes the fuse to blow. Or the power circuit capacitor or inductor are bad.

@danj - I have another A1398 and I swap the monitor. Same case, no backlight. I don’t have the skill to repair this…
