my washing machine is showing a PE error, and after a bit of online sleuthing, I discovered that it's likely an issue with the water level sensor. I went ahead and replaced the water sensor, but annoyingly, the error still popped up. Here's what I did to try and fix it:
First, I unplugged the machine and left it off for about 5 minutes. This can sometimes clear minor glitches. After waiting, I plugged it back in, hoping for the best, but the PE error was still there.
Next, I grabbed a multimeter to check the wire harness connecting the water level pressure sensor to the main control board. I made sure there were no loose or damaged wires, and everything looked good in terms of continuity. If I had found any faulty wiring, I would have replaced it.
Since I had already replaced the sensor, I decided to clean it just to be sure there was no debris or hard water buildup causing issues. Unfortunately, even after ensuring the new sensor was spotless, the error persisted.
At this point, I realized I might need some professional help. So, I called an LG Electronics service technician to diagnose and fix the problem. They have the expertise to handle more complex issues that I might have missed.
Despite my efforts, it looks like this one needs a bit more than a DIY fix. But at least I know I did everything I could before calling in the pros!
