screen is black a couple days after light drop and touchscreen works

A couple of days ago I had a small drop and my phone developed a very thin white line on the upper part of my phone. There were no cracks or anything and apart from that everything seemed fine, but last night I put my phone down to sleep and it was still acting fine, but then a couple of minutes later I got back on it to make sure I had my sound on and the screen was all black, minus a thin white line that flashes for a split second when you first press the power button. The rest of the phone clearly works as the vibrations that happen when you put down your fingerprint and the sound from the show I was watching was playing when I unlocked it.

I restarted it a couple of times to no avail. Could it be one of the screen connectors was dislodged or something bigger? I don't want to waste any money on a heat gun and a kit to break down my phone for it to actually be a bigger problem and have to spend money on someone else fixing it anyways.

Also, any recommendations on budget friendy kits and heat guns if that is the way to go?

Someone please help I've only had this phone for like a week:((

*I just wanted to add that its actually a S23 but that wasn't put as an option

I should probably add I'm pretty sure the backlight isn't working at all either

@chelseadelgado this "developed a very thin white line" and the fact that it got dropped, is a pretty good indication that you will need a new screen. Something like this video should help you with the repair. The replacement screens are available at numerous places online. Just to let you know, those screens are not cheap.

While you replace your display, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has the same problem as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.
