Rubber material under the thumb area

The rubber area under the thumb to ring finger has degraded after extensive use, and there is even a rupture in the rubber material where the thumb can click down. I'd like to replace the rubber material only. Please advise.

Ist dies eine gute Frage?

After two years and 3 months, I had a similar perforation in my MX Master 2S product. I don't find this type of mouse the cheapest, and I would have expected better quality workmanship. This way it looks like I have to buy a new mouse every two years. I have at least written to the manufacturer, and hopefully they will replace this poor quality part in future products.

Since I'm 3 months out of warranty, and I have the same problem with MX Master 2S, I'm thinking of a glue gun with melted transparent material, I'll try to drip on the spot and use my thumb to shape it before it hardens, this material is slightly elastic and could heal the spot, but before that I'll seal the perforation with something to prevent any leakage inside. Perhaps a thin strip of fabric adhesive tape.

That sounds like a promising workaround. Yeah, you figure something that costs this much would last more than 2 years. Planned obsolescence?

The plastic button under the thumb rest on my MX Master has split and disintegrated into pieces, exposing the mechanism underneath with no way to fix the button to cover.

This essentially makes that button non-functional.

A simple replacement button would solve the problem.

Nobita,

I’ve seen this on a handful of mice and my Logitech (slightly different model) is starting to do something similar. I haven’t done this yet, but I’m wondering if you can just find the right high-quality tape and cover it up? It won’t look as good, but might be quite functional and only cost you a dime every few months and make it last a whole lot longer. I’m thinking maybe fabric tape? I’m sorry if this isn’t what you hoped but thought it might be a decent idea.

Hi Chris, thanks for the great idea. I guess my mouse isn't the only one going bald...lol. I think I will try your idea in the meantime because my mouse feels weird with a tear where my thumb rests. I am keeping this question "open" (i.e., not clicking "accept answer") simply in hopes of logitech or others who might know something additional about relevant Logitech replacement parts (or their plans to make some) sharing additional info that might be helpful for all of us. Again, thanks for your suggestion!

I have this problem too but it’s not ripped the gesture button pad too much, It may not be a perfect solution as I am yet to try it myself but there are parts for this mouse on sites like Ali Express or DHGate I found this one for example https://campaign.aliexpress.com/wow/gcp/...

I had a perforation where my thumb was. It's a factory error/poor quality material, - but it's useless to look for it. The mouse is otherwise fully functional, so how did they fix the growing hole? I have tried various adhesive strips, but they all eventually peeled off after 14 days to a month. So I resorted to a more "brutal" solution. I used a hot glue gun (the kind you use on a melted plastic rod). Immediately after application, I carefully shaped and sealed, not too much, so that just a little bit of the hole was healed, a plug was formed, which is transparent to the touch, it does not hurt and the hole does not sag, I have had it like this for 4 months and it seems to work. Maybe a tip will help someone.

I've found these while looking for a solution. It would work if the tear isn't too bad I think. https://capes.co/products/logitech-mx-ma...

And if the button is defective this could be the answer : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:516722...
