5 blinks on TV whenever power on attempt

Having an issue with this tv. I'm getting a standby light and when I press the power button it turns green then almost immediately back to standby red and flashes 5 times.

I was tryna follow this and the first thing checks out but I don't understand how to check between the G to panel harness. Is there anything else I should be looking for?

@davidjolly53848 you could check if the voltages that are on pin 8 of the connector are also on the connector on the harness, that corresponds to the same pin. I usually just check for corrosion, bend pins and tears. There is usually not a lot of other things that can go wrong with the harness. T-con board failure on Sony of this model are pretty common. If you want to, you could post a good picture of your T-con board. That way we could try to have you measure a few things to see if your T-con board has the important voltages.

@oldturkey03

Soot or shadow under CON1 on the tcon board image supplied?

von

I think its a shadow but i can clean the connector with some acetone

@davidjolly53848

Acetone is not a good choice as it may damage the plastic of the connector. It can be very aggressive with some types of plastic

Isopropyl alcohol 99%+ is the best. If none available a "barely moist" i.e. not dripping etc, Q-Tip (moistened with clean water) would most probably work just as well

Just be careful not to damage the connector pins and make sure that it is totally dry before powering it on.
