My batteryribbon metal fingers detached from metal and ribbon, can I?

My battery ribbon detached from the metal finger’s clasp as well as to the metal on the computer. Should I sotter it back on & how do I connect it to the ribbon now?

@elainefarg97614 that will depend on how bad the traces and solder pads got damaged. We would need to see more of those. Yes, the only way to fix it is by resoldering the connector, or a new connector (depending on the damage of the old one) There are a few places that are known to our community, that can do this type of board repair. It would all depend on your geographic location. Of course, if you have the tools and the skills to solder it yourself, even better.

Hi there! If you know how to microsolder and are confident in your ability then that would be the solution here. If you were to bring this in for a Genius Bar appointment they would tell you to purchase a new machine because the repair would likely cost five to six hundred.

You could also purchase a new motherboard from iFixit. If you return your damaged board to them, they will refund your payment method $50 from the purchase.
