The screen is dead but I hear atuff

Unfortunately that's an all too common result of dropping an iPhone - a dead screen. The screen is made up of multiple layers of very thin glass and delicate electronic connections to those layers that are all too easily broken as a result of any kind of impact.

So yeah, I'd say it's highly likely you'll need to replace the screen. The fact that you can still hear it doing things means it's powered on and still working, so that's actually a good sign. I've done this repair myself several times and as long as you take it slow and work carefully, you can get through it with the end result being a working phone with a brand new screen.

You can support iFixit's repair efforts by purchasing the screen directly from them, or you can go searching on the internet for replacements. Given that this is now considered an older model phone and it uses an LCD rather than OLED display, the parts are getting pretty cheap. Doing an web search, the very first one that came up on Amazon was only $13 USD. Plenty of other choices are available on sites like eBay and AliExpress as well.

If you're not confident in your ability to replace the screen you'll need to find a local repair shop that can do the work. Given the low cost of the screen it shouldn't be too expensive, but you'll definitely save a lot of money if you do it yourself.
