How to repair the scanner light?

I have this scanner and it appears to be physically operable except for the light, which does not turn on when scanning. Software on the computer detects the scanner, sends instructions to begin scanning, the platen (?) moves across under the glass and "data" is received. But without the light, the data is just a blank page.

Any pointers to maintenance manuals or instructions to repair would be very helpful.

I know this is real late, but I have the same scanner that gives me dark scans. I came across this guy retrofitting an old HP with the CCFL to LED conversion kits that you can get for monitors. I haven’t dug into mine that much, but it’s a start for research. I’ve been searching around to see where I could get a new bulb for something like this, but it’s looking like DIYing it with something like this is going to be the way to go
