USB C port diagnosis

Hey everyone, just about two days ago I spilled a some soda on the keyboard of my 2020 MacBook Pro m1. Close to the two sub c ports on the side of the Mac. Cleaned it the best I could, there wasn’t too much but clearly enough to damage it. Next day went to charge it and neither usb c plug would work or recognize there was a charger. Tried charging my phone with it and nothing. After some research I thought it was the usb c port so I ordered a used one from ifixit. Took apart the computer meticulously and extremely carefully. Computer was off obviously, disconnected battery first the other connectors. Got the old usb c port out and it was corroded and looked very old. Then reinstalled everything perfectly. Plugged in the computer and the charger was recognized and working, laptop fully charged to 100% just fine.

Went to plug it in tonight to charge it and I get nothing like the previous issue. The charger at first recognized that it was being charged but % wouldn’t change and then I removed it and tried the other and nothing. Then both wouldn’t charge. I’m now wondering if there is damage to the board or to the two usb c transistors or chips (not sure what they are called). When i inspected the board I couldn’t see any signs of liquid anywhere and the board looked perfect but I don’t have a microscope to inspect.

Any insights or ideas that anyone has would be appreciated. I’d rather not take it to a third party repair or to Apple.
