My phone dropped in facing forward screen position

It is very common for the screen to sustain damage from a fall even if you don't see any cracks in the glass. There are delicate connections between the display glass and the flex cable going to the motherboard that can be disrupted when the phone sustains a shock such as from being dropped. Unfortunately, it's not possible to repair that sort of damage, so the only real solution is to replace the screen; 90% of the time that will fix the issue.

There are actually two different ways to replace the display on your phone; with and without the frame. The safest and recommended method is to purchase the screen already attached to the midframe of the phone. That way you don't have to worry about correctly gluing the screen on, and it should give you an advantage in terms of water resistance as well. The downside is that you have to gut the entire phone and move all of the internal components to the new screen+frame assembly, but the good news is those phones are made so that the process is fairly easy and straight-forward; nothing like the major operation it would be on an iPhone.

The guide I linked to shows the screen+frame method but there are undoubtedly YouTube videos out there that show the screen only process; search those out if you prefer that way; the two methods require completely different procedures. You will probably save a couple of dollars on the screen alone, but that savings will be taken up by the need to buy glue for the screen.

There are several choices available for replacement parts; I usually start with places like Amazon, eBay and AliExpress, but there will be several others available as well. Here's an example where you can choose between with and without frame, and between LCD and OLED versions as well if you're really looking to save money. Be aware that it specifically states that the fingerprint reader won't work with the LCD version, which makes sense; it wouldn't be able to see through the backlight that has to be added to the LCD version.

That should get you going again; it is recommended that you plug the new screen into the phone and test it before you go through all the trouble of disassembling everything. That way you know the screen will fix the problem and will enable you to return it if not.
