I get a black screen but screen works with external monitor

Hi all,

My 2017 Macbook Air started fine today but suddenly I got a black screen, the backlight come's on and the laptop works with my TV as an external monitor, but I can't get any images from the laptop. I tried to reboot it with different commands I saw online but nothing worked. I updated the software as I had not updated it in a while, but it's still not working. I could really use some help as I cant afford a new laptop right now and need this for work.
