You can't open it from the back cover. You need to remove the screen to get to all the internal components.

Here's the ifixit Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 repair guide, that shows what to do.

Once opened then you can replace the battery and also the volume buttons.

Do you mean the volume button actuator (example only) or the volume button flex (example only) which is the cable that has contacts on it which connects to the motherboard, that are operated by pressing the actuator button?

If the actuator then it comes in 3 colours, black, gold and white, to match whatever colour the tablet is. Just so that you're aware of this when trying to find a supplier. Search online for SM-T819 (insert required colour) volume control button.

If the volume flex, then it doesn't matter as it is applicable to the model, not the colour of the tablet ;-)
