Why is my controllers not syncing with my PS5 to turn it on?

I have a long term problem with my PS5 1100 series where I turn on my controller to turn on my PS5 and the controller light turns blue as if connected but my PS5 does not turn on at all. The only way to fix it is to turn on the PS5 by power button but the controller refuses to connect even when on but still shows a blue light so then I have to turn it off by power button and then when it’s off again, I can turn it on with my controller as normal. This issue repeats almost every time I use it and I know this is a widespread issue as I’ve seen repair sites charging high prices to fix this problem.

Are multiple controllers having this issue with your PS5? Does the affected controller work on another PS5? Does the controller work with the cable connected on your PS5? Is the firmware up to date for the PS5 and controllers? Thanks in advance!

I am fully sure it is a console issue rather than controller issue as I used 3 dual senses with the latest firmware on the console and controllers with wired and wireless and it still happens. Thanks

Hmm, maybe it’s the Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. CXD90061GG IC on the motherboard.. but I’m not sure! As you can see here at step 8: PlayStation 5 Teardown

That would be beyond what I can do in my home. I don’t have my soldering iron or heat gun here unfortunately and there aren’t any repair centres that do it for a fair price or even recognise this issue. Thanks though.

Yeah, it’s a difficult one.. no problem! It’s most likely something on the motherboard! Maybe take it apart and check if you can measure some components first?
