I was using my laptop when everything turned off except the power button, the button that turns the mouse pad on and off, and a light next to the charging indicator that has a light bulb on it. I wasn't moving it nor unplugged it. What could've happen? Do I need to replace the battery? I tried a new cord and nothing changes.

Good news! Your laptop is not completely unusable, possibly.
One of the parts has failed; begin with troubleshooting the display. As your model comes with an HDMI port, try connecting it to an external screen. It can be anything from a monitor to even a TV.
Just a headsup in case you're too tech-savy, make sure to change to TV output in case you're using one, in order to display image.
