@mark_rum if you can still feel your phone vibrate when you turn it on, then you know it is most likely your screen. If you get nothing and it appears to be dead, I'd try a reset first. Press and hold the [Power button] and the [Volume Down button] at the same time. After the phone vibrates, release it, and the phone will automatically enter Recovery mode.
Let us know what you find out.

Hello, I'm having the same problem as them. I tried your method and it proved ineffective on my phone, it is still black with only a few pixel colors showing.

@donsebastian "it is still black with only a few pixel colors showing" that sounds like a broken display. you will have to replace the display. Since iFixit does not yet have a guide for this, use something like this video to replace the screen.
While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has the same problem as you do. Anything happen to it that you can think of? Had it been playing up in any way? Did you go to bed and next morning dead? Was you using it when it went black? The more background info you give the easier it is to look for a solution.
