The old speaker was blown. Sounded terrible.

It went well.

I have designed and worked on electronic devices all my life so I think it is with some authority that I can say this is not a simple job. If you are all thumbs do not try it, but if you have steady hands and are not prone to forcing things and can work VERY methodically then it is very doable.

I replaced the SSD at the same time.

Mein Rat

Because I am such a perfectionist, after I put everything but the back cover back together, I checked to see I had all the cables re-connected. One connector was missing a cable! Agggh. I took the entire thing back apart to find the elusive connector that I thought had accidentally be allowed to be covered by the main pcb. Well stupid me. I there was no connector. There is one unused connector on the motherboard that I assume is used by Apple for Jtag testing or programming of onboard devices. I was so annoyed at myself.
