Great First Time Repair Experience

Mein Problem

Dead hard drive on older macbook 2.1. Tired of putting dead computer equipment in storage until next recycling effort. Decided to spend a little money and see if I could repair/upgrade laptop.

Meine Reparatur

Perfecto. Installed a new SSD drive I already had (sorry next time buying it at ifixit). Then bought new hard drive cable (macbook didn't recognize new hard drive) and added RAM. Used all the how-to resources on ifixit website. Miraculously, everything worked and the macbook is extremely fast and working perfectly. The ifixit guides were very accurate and helpful.

Mein Rat

Not sure if this is good advice or not. Before doing install of new hard drive, connect it to macbook as an external drive first to see if the laptop recognizes it. If it doesn't, may need a new cable as I did. BTW, I had removed old hard drive and had my work IT guy confirm that it was dead.
