Photos and videos won’t save to memory card
Photos and videos cannot be viewed after being taken.
Card not formatted
This is a common problem that occurs. This often happens when the card is removed from the camera while the camera is in use, or the camera's battery died while writing a file.
To fix the "format error" message, follow these simple steps.
- Set the camera to playback mode and press MENU/OK button.
- Scroll to ERASE menu and highlight FORMAT.
- Select OK then press the MENU/OK button for confirmation.
- Once the formatting process is complete, take pictures and make sure it stores appropriately.
Displays memory error after card has been formatted
Take a cloth and wipe down the memory card slot to remove any dust that may be causing interruptions between the memory card and the device.
Memory card full
The memory card may be full, and needs to be replaced in order to save more photos and videos. To replace the memory card, open the battery storage area and push down on the existing memory card to remove it, and replace the old memory card with the new one. Make sure the new memory card is either a Fujifilm SD/SDHC or SanDisk SD/SDHC card from 1GB to 16 GB.
No camera flash
Camera flash won’t light up.
Flash is not in raised position
First, check to see if the flash is in the raised position. If not, raise the flash so it is out. Also ensure the camera is in a correct shooting mode for flash photography, and that the flash is not exhausted. Also make sure the flash is not charging.
Flash not available in the current shooting mode
To fix this problem ensure that the camera is not in super macro or continuous shooting mode.
The photos and videos appear blurry
Photo or video is out of focus or blurry.
Camera lens is dirty
In order to clean the camera lens, power the camera off. Wipe the lens with a microfiber lens wipe. Turn the camera back on and see if image is still out of focus. Go to menu and select autofocus. Set the camera on a flat surface and check to make sure the camera focuses appropriately.
Ensure camera is in correct optical mode
Turn the camera on. Zoom the camera all the way out and point camera at a neutral object 3 - 5 feet away. Turn the camera to SA autofocus mode on the selector dial. Observe the viewfinder to see if camera focuses correctly.
Screen won’t light up
Image on LCD is off or is unreadably dim.
Select Appropriate Level of Brightness
To change the brightness setting of the Fujifilm, first turn the camera on. Press the selector arrow that is pointing either up or down. Choose display brightness and press again on the arrow key pointing up to raise the brightness. Press Menu/Ok once finished.
