Ninja Foodi DZ401 Not Heating

If your Ninja Foodi DZ401 does not get up to the desired temperature or simply does not heat up at all, follow this troubleshooting guide.

When plugged in and in use, the device does not heat adequately or at all. The power cord may be damaged, affecting the device’s ability to heat up to the desired temperature.

• See if the power cord is plugged in correctly.
• Make sure that there are no kinks in the cord.
• Check that the circuit breaker has not been tripped or a fuse has been blown.
• Look for any visible damage, such as bent prongs or exposed wires. !!DO NOT TOUCH ANY EXPOSED WIRES WHILE PLUGGED IN!! If the power cord it damaged beyond repair, you may need to replace it.

When in use, the sound of the fan cannot be heard, and the air inside does not circulate leading to improperly cooked food. The fan or fan motor may not be working, causing poor air flow.

• While powered on, check to see if the fan is running by listening for the sound of the motor or by placing a hand on top of the appliance to feel a small vibration.
• While powered off and cooled, remove the baskets and examine the fan checking for any blockage. Clean blockage away with a paper towel. !!DO NOT PUT WATER OR ANY CLEANING LIQUIDS INSIDE THE MAIN UNIT!! If there is no vibration and no sound indicating that the fan is running, or simply cleaning the fan does not help, the fan/fan motor may need to be replaced.

When in use, the fan can be heard but the device still does not heat. The heating element is not functioning properly, resulting in a lack of heat.

• While powered off, check for visible damage. If there is any breakage of the heating element do not use the device.
• If there is no visible damage, turn on the device. Then, turn it off after letting it run for a couple seconds. Once off, remove the baskets and carefully look inside to see if the heating element coil is lit up and the air inside the main unit is warm. !!DO NOT TOUCH THE HEATING ELEMENT WHILE HOT!! If there is damage to the heating element or it is not functioning properly, the heating element may need to be replaced.
