Controller is Not Properly Calibrated
When the joystick is not properly calibrated, it causes erratic or inaccurate movement.
To recalibrate the controller:
- Open the control panel on Windows PC,
- Navigate to device and printers,
- Right click on controller and select Game controller Settings,
- Click properties and go to settings tab
- Select Caliberate and follow the on-screen instructions to recalibrate the joystick
On Emulator:
- Open Emulator settings
- Locate the controller configuration section.
- Calibrate the joystick within the emulator to reset its neutral position.
Driver or Software is Not Up To Date
An outdated driver can cause erratic behavior on the joystick. Ensure the controller’s drivers or the emulator you’re using is up to date. Information on how to properly update your drivers is found here.
Worn Components
- Open the controller carefully using a small screwdriver
- Inspect the joystick assembly for loose or damaged components
- Tighten any screws or replace worn out parts
- Replacement joystick modules are often available online and can be swapped in with basic soldering skills.
