Removing Head Basket (Optional)

The head basket does not need to be removed yet, but can be in case it needs repairs. The microphone capsules are fragile, so skip this step for now and take it off it later if continuing with disassembly. The best time for removal will be noted at Step 20.
The head basket is attached with two screws at the base of the "band" where the mesh meets. Remove them with a #1 philips screwdriver and the head basket can be gently pulled off.
There are 3 large silver screws, 2 small black screws, and 12 small silver screws in the microphone. The large silver screws are used for the head basket (Step 10) and capsule mount (Step 20), and the small black screws are for the capsule board (Step 21). Small silver screws are used everywhere else (Step 14, 16, 17).
