This guide shows how to remove and replace the automatic voltage regulator module for the Honda 6500 Watt Generator EG6500CL AT.

Before you work on the device, make sure to switch the engine off.

Switch the circuit breaker off.

Grab the plastic housing at the end of the spark plug wire.

Pull firmly to disconnect the wire from the spark plug.

Remove the five Phillips screws securing the front panel:

Two 35 mm screws

Two 20 mm screws
-
One 15 mm screw
-

Carefully pull the front panel away from the generator in order to access the internal components.

Use a flathead screwdriver to press and release the two plastic tabs securing the AVR module.

Carefully slide and remove the automatic voltage regulator out of its recess.
